CacheCoin is a community token built for geocachers. It’s used to tip great hides, reward creative containers, support events, and add a fun digital layer to real-world treasure hunting.

It’s optional and designed to enhance the experience — not replace it.

Geocaching already has “trade items” and “swag.” CacheCoin adds a lightweight, optional digital reward layer: tips for great hides, prizes for challenges, and community bounties.

Tipping mechanisms

Support geocachers even if they don’t have a wallet yet.

Option 1: Wallet-to-wallet tips

Best for people already using Phantom/Solflare/etc.

  • Cache note includes a QR to the receiver’s wallet address (or a Tip Page).
  • Finder sends a small CacheCoin tip instantly.
  • Optional: attach a message (“great hide!”).

Option 2: “Claim later” (no wallet required)

Put a claim card in the cache. Finder can redeem later when they set up a wallet.

  • Cache contains a sealed card with a one-time code (or QR).
  • Finder visits the Claim page (coming later), connects a wallet, and redeems.
  • Codes can be capped (ex: 5 CACHE per find) to prevent draining.

What is “Claim CacheCoin”?

Some geocachers won’t have a crypto wallet when they find a CacheCoin gift in a cache. The Claim page is an optional way to redeem a small tip later — when they’re ready.

  • Finder gets a claim card with a one-time code.
  • Later: they create/connect a Solana wallet.
  • They redeem the code and receive CacheCoin.
